Officially our organization’s name is “The Humane Society, Inc.”,  and most recently we have been doing business as “FM Humane Society”.  For a variety of reasons, we felt we needed to change our name in order to better identify the communities that we serve.  We now are referring to ourselves as…

 ”Humane Society Fargo-Moorhead”

Along with our new name, we have deployed a new website at www.humanesocietyfargomoorhead.org . We sincerely want to thank Jaime and Aptek technologies for their past assistance with our old website.  But we were ready for change, and wanted a website that could more easily be updated by our shelter staff.

We hope that with this new website, we can have information updated in a timely manner, and that it will be easier for website visitors to find the information they are looking for. Please take a look around.

The Humane Society Fargo-Moorhead is proud to announce we’ve been selected as a finalist in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Program. Now we need your support!

Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program will be awarding 100 vehicles to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days based on votes from the public. A total of 500 nonprofits were selected from more than 4,000 applications nationwide.   We are hoping to win a new Toyota Sienna van to help transport our animals to our shelter from local pounds, to take animals to the vet and to the groomer, and to use to haul animals to adoption events during the summer months. Our current van is nearly 20 years old and is no longer a reliable means of transportation–so please help us by voting on June 9th at www.100carsforgood.com!

Hi there! My name is Cora and I’m a honey! I love, love, love people! I’m very sweet and well-mannered and would make a great companion for anyone looking for a pal. Although there are other dogs that I get along with, I’d prefer to be an “only” pet, if at all possible, so I can get all the attention for myself…I love to be spoiled! I love to snuggle, too. At night, my favorite place to sleep is right by your side. I know lots of tricks too! I can impress you with sit, shake, lay down, and now I’m learning how to fetch!  I must say though, that I’m not a fan of those furry little critters called ‘cats’ (so I need a home without them). I was recently diagnosed with  “incontinence” but have been put on medication–don’t worry, the medication is very inexpensive and I’m doing so much better since I’ve been on it. I need a forever home…please won’t you consider me? I promise to try my best to be a good girl, if you’ll just give me a chance.
